What is the Driving Licence Check?​

Driving Licence Check reports are a simple way to assess suitability and reliability of individuals whose job may require them to drive a company vehicle.

The Driving Licence Check brings back all the Driving Licence information held by the DVLA for the driver at the time of the check. The information includes:

  • Driving licence number
  • Licence issue number
  • Licence valid from/to dates
  • Driving status
  • Endorsements, including offences and points - these will also be listed with the code, offence date and description
  • Categories of vehicles the candidate is allowed to drive
  • Categories of provisional vehicles the candidate is allowed to drive
  • Tacho card information (if applicable)
  • CPC information (if applicable)

If the candidate's driving status is not valid (e.g. suspended, revoked) or if endorsements are found, the 'Driving Status' and 'Endorsements' sections will be highlighted in red.

If the candidate's driving licence was not found in the DVLA database, 'No driving record was dounf for the candidate' will be displayed.
